LAKE OCONEE — Halcyon Hospice is looking for volunteers to provide companionship and socialization to terminally ill patients and their caregivers. There is something for everyone’s talents, time and abilities. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to: playing music, reading, crafts and clerical support. STMA and The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton present “Mothers and Children: Beyond Sentiment.” This show features a collection of paintings depicting the theme of mother and child. The show is located at The Plaza Arts Center, 305 N. Madison Ave., Eatonton.

Reynolds Plantation has opened their seasonal ice skating rink. Access to the rink is complimentary for resort guests, $40 per four-hour session for adults, $30 per four-hour session per child (12 and under). The prince includes a skate rental.

The Madison Artists Guild hosts their first “MAG Holiday Market” at the Cottage in Town Park, 248 W Jefferson St., Madison. There will be unique gifts, artwork and seasonal stocking stuffers. The market will be open: Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
