LAKE OCONEE — Sept. 19

The Womens Group at Lake Oconee Lutheran Church is sponsoring a free money-savings “Grocery Saving Workshop,” which will be held at the church on Wednesday, Sept. 19, beginning at noon. The informative workshop will focus on strategic shopping, thrifty and efficient meal planning, and smart couponing ideas. Provided by, an online savings and coupon community, the 1-2 hr. workshop will be led by 11 Alive (WXIA-Atlanta) News Anchor Valerie Hoff.  Everyone in the community is invited to sign up and attend this event.

The workshop hosts, members of Lake Oconee Lutheran Church and the Womens Group, will serve a light lunch to the workshop attendees. The community is invited to attend, but please sign up online or call to reserve your spot for the “Grocery Saving Workshop.”

A community bible study open to all men and women in the Lake Oconee area are welcomed to take part in a program called “Fire on the Mountain.” There is no charge, but an optional workbook will cost $10. The “Fire on the Mountain” book is an in-depth study of Exodus by Ray Vander Laan. The bible study will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 19 and will take place from 10 a.m. to noon for seven weeks.
