If you area a woman who loves a good story, enjoys reading books with happy endings, or you are touched by stories where “the good guys win”, then you need attend the “Share the Story” program on Saturday, May 16 at Lakeside Church, 5800 Lake Oconee Parkway. “Share the Story” is an event that will speak to the hearts of every woman, regardless of age, race, marital or social status. It will inspire and encourage through stories, conversation, music, poetry, and dance. The program is an outreach of Family Services Ministry of ATLAS Ministry Inc. in Greensboro. It will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end with a lunch at noon. A $20 donation is suggested for the program and luncheon, but this donation will likely be considered among the most memorable dollars ever spent. Show your love and support to these women who may be considered heroines in overcoming huge obstacles in their lives. Worship artist and acclaimed songwriter Laura Story will perform June 7 at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Tickets are not required and childcare will be available. A love offering will be collected following the concert for those who wish to participate. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is on a first come, first serve basis.

Story has received four Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Award nominations. She was nominated for Inspiration Album of the Year and Worship Album of the Year for her 2008 release “Great God Who Saves.” Her song, “Bless the Lord” was nominated for Inspirational Song award. Lake Oconee Lutheran Church will produce their biggest spring concert yet on Sunday, May 17, beginning at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend this concert free of charge. “Can’t You See?” will feature the Lake Oconee Lutheran Choir, directed by Brad Rudisail, musicians from the Georgia College and State University Jazz Band, as well as singers and choir members from a number of area churches, plus piano music by Brad Rudisail. The musical selections will include spirituals and rearranged 70’s rock classics sung from a Christian perspective. Light refreshments will be provided by the congregation after the concert. A free will offering will be taken to benefit the Circle of Love Center, a shelter which serves local victims of domestic violence.
