In early November, Lake Oconee Elks delivered much needed art supplies to the veterans at the Georgia War Veterans Home. The veterans have been in quarantine since COVID-19 hit back in February and they enjoy working with art materials in different ways. The vets have a classroom they use to paint, draw, and do craft projects. Art has been shown to be very effective in calming PSTD symptoms. The Lodge used the Freedom Grant from the Elks National Foundation to purchase the supplies. More art supplies are scheduled to be delivered to the home early in the new year.
