New Stephen Ministers were recently installed at Lake Oconee Lutheran.

Lake Oconee Lutheran Church’s newly commissioned Stephen Ministers were installed during the worship service on Sunday, May 22.

The six newly installed Stephen Ministers are:  Bob Stallings, Harold Sollenberger, Sue Davis, Darlene Zenami, Leroy Horst, and Vicar Neil Wehmas.  The LOLC Stephen Ministry team trainers and leaders are Phil Larsen and Virginia Daley.

These individuals have completed a rigorous training course and promised to uphold the Stephen Minister model of one-to-one Christian care to individuals in the congregation and community who are experiencing difficult times in their lives. A Stephen Minister is a trained lay person who listens, prays, supports, and encourages, and promises to “be there” for a designated care receiver.

Anyone in this community  who is interested in finding out more about Stephen Ministry or who feels the need of a Stephen Minister, please contact either Phil Larsen (706) 473-1078 or Virginia Daley (706) 485-3564.

This not-for-profit Christian educational organization, founded in 1975, provides training and resources to thousands of congregations and organizations worldwide. More information about this program can be found at www.stephenministries.org.
