GREENSBORO, Ga. — This is a reminder that Second Harvest will be holding its monthly food distribution on Saturday, March 18 from 8 to 9 a.m. (or until food supplies are depleted). In addition, the Oconee Regional Humane Society will be on hand to distribute pet food and supplies.

The distribution will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 202 West Broad Street in downtown Greensboro.

If you need food and/or would like to volunteer, please join us on Saturday morning!

“Sponsor of the Month” the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties for making this food distribution possible. We still need “BackPack Sponsors of the Month” to ensure Second Harvest-supported local elementary students have a weekend meal. If you have an interest in becoming a BackPack sponsor, please contact Reid Conklin at reidconklin@me.com.

Second Harvest is a signature project of the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties. The mission of the program is to eliminate hunger in these counties.  The program started in late 2008 by identifying places to “rescue” excess food. Over the years, the program has expanded to include monthly food distributions and the School Backpack Program which provides “weekend backpack meals” to elementary school children from low-income families.  If you have any questions or would like to learn more about a food distribution sponsorship or a BackPack sponsorship, please contact Reid Conklin (reidconklin@me.com) or Dave Davidson (daved@davidson-ins.net).
