LAKE OCONEE – On Oct. 14, the Town and Country Garden Club visited the Plantation Olive Oil Company in Greensboro. The owner, Larry Jack, gave an educational talk on authentic extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. He provided tastings of six different pairings, including Tuscan Herb olive oil with traditional 18-year balsamic vinegar and basil olive oil and cranberry pear white balsamic vinegar. The finale was blood orange olive oil and chocolate balsamic vinegar on vanilla ice cream. Delicious! After the tour, members were able to stock their kitchens and start Christmas shopping.
Claudia Looram was the hostess who set up the tasting. Afterward, the club members went to Sweet Kneads for lunch.
The next meeting will be our annual tea party at a member’s home. Guests and new members are always welcome. For more information on club activities, access the club’s website at http://tcgc-eatonton.org or call 706-484-8040.
